WHAT ARE HAND TIED EXTENSIONS AND ARE THEY RIGHT FOR YOUR HAIR?

If you’ve ever had or ever considered getting hair extensions, you’ll have encountered the phrase, hand-tied extension. That said, many of us don’t know exactly what that means. What are wefts? How are they applied? How long do they last and will I be able to style my hair properly? If you’re asking yourself all of these questions and more, you’re in the right place! We’ve laid out all you need to know about hand-tied hair. Including the application process, and aftercare. Let us introduce you to Laced Hair Extensions.

Do Hand Tied Extensions Use Heat Or Glue?

No! The beauty of hand tied extensions is that they’re sewn into the hair. This avoids the need for any damaging heat or glue during the application process. This also means that once the stylist removes your extensions there will be no heat damage or residue to remove.

Do Hand Tied Extensions Hurt During The Application Process?

Laced Hand-Tied Extensions are pain-free! Your stylist will treat your natural hair extremely carefully to ensure there is no pulling or discomfort. Additionally, every weft delivers even weight distribution. This makes for no discomfort during application and damage-free results afterward.

What Are Hand Tied Extensions And How Are They Applied?

Hand-tied extensions is the term used for attaching wefts to your natural hair. Firstly, your stylist will separate your hair into sections. From here, they will select tiny sections of hair one at a time. Then, they will slip small silicone-lined beads carefully onto the hair and secure them in place. This creates the framework for your extensions to sit against. Once all of the beadwork is complete, it’s time for the hair!

Now, curtain-like rows of hair are attached in carefully, using the beadwork as a base. This ensures that not all of the hair weight is put onto your natural strands. Your stylist will sew the hair in to distribute the weight evenly. They also create a secure and even base for the hair. Once the application is complete, neither you nor anyone else will be able to tell it’s not all your own!

Will Tied Extensions Damage My Natural Hair?

No, hand-tied wefts will not damage your hair.

How Many Rows Of Hair Will I Need?

The amount of hair that you’ll need all depends on your natural locks. How thick it is, how long it is, and so on. Different hair types will need different amounts of hair to make the final look utterly flawless. For example, those with thin hair may need extra hair to conceal a hairline. This will result in a natural-looking appearance with much thicker, more striking tresses than before!

If you have naturally fine hair, you can still get hand tied extensions. Your stylist will assess your hair before application and talk you through the entire process. How much hair you will need, plus the locations to fill in your concern areas.

What Length and Style Is The Hand Tied Hair?

Laced Extensions come in lengths of 16 and 22. They also come in straight and waved.  The length you choose is up to you though your stylist will certainly be able to make a recommendation. They can suggest which will look best based on your height and style. Additionally, if there’s any significant information you have to share with them, this will help. Such as, you work out daily so tie your hair up high a lot, you have a cowlick you’d rather conceal, etc.

Can I Style My Hand Tied Extensions?

As long as you’ve opted for 100% Remy human hair (such as Laced), then absolutely! There’ll be no need to alter your usual hair routine. This includes heat styling. You can happily still blow-dry, curl, and straighten your hair with no issues or damage. Additionally, your hand-tied weft will be so secure that none of the seams will show through.

Will I Be Able To Wear My Hair In Its Usual Styles?

You certainly will! Even if you’re wearing your hair up, your new additions will remain totally undetected! High ponytails, top knots, even braids are all possible. The only noticeable change will be how much thicker and more beautiful your styles look!

Additionally, our stylists will create your extensions especially for you. That means the color match will be completely perfect and an exact match for your hair as well as straight or wavy depending on hair type.

How Long Do Hand Tied Hair Extensions Last?

Remy human hair extensions can, in fact, be re-used. If the hair is properly taken care of and you don’t use excessive heat, they can last up to one year. That said, once you have your new extensions, your natural hair will grow of course. This means, if you wish to keep your extensions in, you’ll need them moved up. This will need assessing starting at 4 weeks up to 8 weeks as the hair grows through naturally and how fast your hair may grow. No damage will be caused by the extensions however so it’s perfectly safe to have them put back in right away.
